Neural therapy is based on the regulation of the vegetative nervous system using local anesthetics to achieve healing.
Two German doctor brothers, the Hunekes, first tried the treatment using local anesthetics on one of their patients and when they received a good response, they started working on it. In fact, this was a method that had been tried before but then forgotten. The Huneke's, on the other hand, persistently tried this method and systematically recorded their experiences and established the first scientific foundations of Neural Therapy. Later, Ricker, Pischinger, Heine and Dosch made very important contributions and published very important studies on the mechanism of action of Neural Therapy and the role of the vegetative nervous system.
At the point where Neural Therapy has reached today, Neural Therapy has become an upper specialty at the University of Bern in Switzerland. It has become a specialty in Mexico and a core discipline in many Complementary Medicine Chairs in Europe.
Scientific Association for Neural Therapy and Regulation - BNR
Scientific Neural Therapy and Regulation Association was established on 01.12.2004 under the leadership of Dr. Nazlıkul in order to introduce Neural Therapy, one of the most important elements of Complementary Medicine, to Turkish Physicians and to enable them to use it in their practical applications. This association provides trainings accepted by the International Association of Neural Therapy According to Huneke (IGNH) and trains Turkish Physicians on this subject.
Neural Therapy, which is an unknown treatment for those who have not been to Germany as a physician, has been opened to Turkish Physicians under the leadership of Dr. Hüseyin Nazlikul, M.D., PhD. in accordance with the IGNH training curriculum and systematics, and neural therapy trainings have been given in this context. Later, these trainings were given a diploma within the scope of the Scientific Neural Therapy and Regulation Association, and the physicians who received Neural Therapy training were authorized and certified in this regard.
Since 1996, he has been a trainer of the International Neural Therapy Association according to Huneke. IGNH aims to provide 200 hours of Neural Therapy training, which is the minimum training period, to physicians and dentists who show interest in the subject, especially the members of the association, based on the training curriculum for physicians in the world, within a minimum of 2 years.
Our Professor Dr. Hüseyin Nazlikul, M.D., PhD. who was honored with the “Huneke Medal”, the highest award of the Neural Therapy community in 2008, is both a founding member and the president of our association.
BNR organizes an annual symposium and a biennial congress. In addition, in conjunction with the IGNH, it provides practical and theoretical training on cadavers at the Anatomy Chair of the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University Faculty of Medicine in Germany every two years.
Apart from these trainings and congresses, much importance has been given to journal studies and BARNAT (Scientific Journal of Neuraltherapy, Acupuncture and Complementary Medicine) Journal has started its publication life with the first congress in 2006 and 3 separate issues are published annually.
Neural therapy trainings started before the establishment of the Association. However, as time progressed, it became necessary to establish an association. Until today, approximately 120 Neural Therapy training seminars have been organized and approximately 650 physicians have participated in these seminars and 44 physicians have graduated in the graduation exams held 3 times. Due to its connection with IGNH, IGNH also gives a certificate in addition to the BNR certificate to those who complete the training and pass the exam.
Neural Therapy Training Program and Requirements:
Being a physician or dentist Successful completion of 8 step seminars 200 hours of seminar training
Seminar 1-4 is Basic Training. Basic training is 90 hours in total. Oral exam will be held after basic training
Seminar 5, 6, 7 and 8 Advanced training (May be attended provided that the first 4 steps are completed and the midterm exam is passed.
- Present at least 3 case reports during the training,
- Attending at least 2 congresses and 1 symposium in Turkey or abroad
To complete the training and obtain clinical experience within a period of at least 2 years from the date of starting the first seminar,
CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) certificate (Anesthesiologists are exempt)
Palpation certificate (Manual Medicine Specialists and those who have received MTAR Basic training are exempt)

International Association for Scientific Neural Therapy according to Huneke - IGNH
The Internationale Geselschaft für Neuraltherapie nach Huneke (IGNH) was founded in 1958 by Ferdinand and Walter Huneke. It has a total of 7000 members. It aims to promote the use of neuraltherapy in treatment and to encourage scientific research and studies in the medical field. The associations accepted by the IGNH and authorized to provide training in the world are Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Greece and Turkey.
The training program of the BNR Association continues regularly. In addition, scientific meetings such as congresses and symposiums held abroad are announced to our members and their participation is encouraged. We believe that every physician and general practitioners, regardless of their specialty, will benefit greatly from Neural Therapy in their clinical practice.
Complementary Medicine is not hocus pocus, not placebo, not unscientific at all. There have been and are wrong practices, but these cannot be attributed to physicians and Complementary Medicine who work seriously and spend time in this field.
The BNR Association aims to continue its work in coordination with all other Complementary Medicine methods (such as Phytotherapy, Manual Medicine, Acupuncture, Kinesiology...) that have a scientific basis.
