What is Neural Therapy?

Neural therapy is a regulation treatment using local anesthetics.

The human body is an electrical body. Our whole body is a network of 500,000 km in length. Tissues that can be excited show the ability to generate and transmit action potentials by changing the electrical properties of cell membranes against any stimulus. Nerve and muscle tissue are excitable tissues. There are two types of potentials in cell membranes: resting and action potentials. While the resting potential is a potential formed by the different distribution of ions inside and outside the cell when the cells are not doing any work, the action potential is a series of potential changes that occur in the membrane as a result of the movement of some ions into and out of the cell when the cells are active.

Excitable tissues generate the action potential and transmit the electrical activity generated by this potential change across their membranes. In nerve cells, only the conduction of this electrical activity is done.

When a cell at rest, in which the inside of the cell membrane is more negative than the outside, is stimulated by any stimulus, the resting potential of the membrane changes within milliseconds and reaches a positive value. This state in which the inside of the membrane potential becomes more positive than the outside is called depolarization. However, the membrane potential does not remain in this state; it returns to its resting potential within a very short time. The return of the membrane potential from depolarization back to the resting potential is defined as repolarization. Action potential consists of depolarization and repolarization.

The resting potential of a healthy cell is -40 to -90 mV. However, the resting potential of the diseased cell is low and therefore there is no conduction. All local anesthetics hyperpolarize the cell action potential with a power of -290 mVolt and reaches -40 to -90 mV again, that is, the potential at which it can conduct; it makes the cell work again. Thus, the diseased cell turns into a healthy cell.

Neural therapy provides stimulation and regulation of the vegetative (autonomic) nervous system, which is a very large electrical network in our body. In neural therapy, 3 circulations are regulated in the body with local anesthetic injection applied to specific places; blood circulation, lymph circulation and neural transmission. When the blood circulation, i.e. perfusion of a tissue increases, that tissue is nourished; when the lymph circulation increases, the tissue is purified from metabolites, i.e. it is cleaned, and the tissue with increased and regulated nerve conduction works more regularly. Therefore, the self-healing capacity of the tissue that is nourished, cleansed and receives regular commands increases.

The basic logic in Neural Therapy is regulation. Therefore, it is the regulation of a structure for which there are indications. An anatomical deficiency, a genetic disorder table do not constitute indications for neural therapy.

This treatment method (Neural Therapy), which was discovered in Germany in 1940 and is widely practiced by physicians in Europe, is not only a permanent treatment method, but also a preventive medicine method. Because the basic pathology of all diseases, from cancer to simple pain, from a viral disease such as influenza to allergies, is the same. Perfusion, lymphatic drainage and innervation are impaired in all diseased tissues or bodies. By regulating these systems, neural therapy is a very effective method used both in the fight against diseases and in maintaining a healthy state (preventive medicine).
