History of Neural Therapy in the World

6 min read

We are in the age of information, but we are in an age where the duration of information is very short. It is now so easy to access information at the click of a button. But for science to become what it is today... Imagine what a long way it has come... We need to remember that science, medicine, treatment methods, every method we use today has come a long way. That's why the elders said, “I will be the slave of the one who teaches me a word”... HISTORIES are the most valuable documents to keep in mind the value of knowledge and the respect we should show to our teachers, professors and masters. We respectfully commemorate all our teachers who have contributed to science at the IV. Neural Therapy Congress with international participation, organized by BNR (Scientific Neural Therapy and Regulation Association) under the leadership of our teacher Dr. Hüseyin Nazlikul, M.D., PhD. who taught us Neural Therapy in Turkey.

In 1568, the idea of local anesthesia emerged when Ambroise Parecompressed the nerve roots.

In 1845, F. Rynd found the injection in Dublin.

In 1853 C.G. Parvaz invented the injector in France.

In 1875 Collins et al. in Paris tested the use of cocaine in the treatment of cancer, pain and TB.

In 1881 S. Freund and C. Koller discovered the local anesthetic effect of cocaine on mucous membranes.

In 1884 Koller described the effect and therapeutic possibilities of topical cocaine.

In 1886, J.L. Corning introduced spinal and peridural anesthesia in the USA.

In 1890, C. L. Schleich performed the first surgical intervention by applying infiltration anesthesia with 0.1% cocaine solution.

In 1898, A. Bier performed spinal anesthesia with cocaine in Berlin.

In 1902 G. Spiess showed that wounds healed faster and more evenly with regional infiltration of novacaine.

In 1903 Cathelin performed the first caudal epidural injection with cocaine.

In 1905 Einhow discovered novocaine.

In 1905 H. Braun published the first textbook of local anesthesia in Zwickau.

In 1914 G. Fischer used procaine for the first time in dental anesthesia.

In 1922, Fa. Lucius & Brüning published an advertising journal called “Anesthesia and Treatment” with Novocaine in Frankfurt.

In 1924 the histopathologist Prof. Dr. G. Rickerspublished the bookRelation pathology”. He scientifically established that the basis of diseases was the dysfunction of the VSS.

In 1925 R. Leriche tried the first blockade of the ganglion stellatum with novacaine.

In 1925,the German physiologist Von Hering stated that the neurovegetative system would be one of the most important elements of future medicine.

In 1925 R. Leriche presented his observations on instantaneous phenomena and neuralmedizin in Strasburg at a congress.

In 1928 F. Huneke observed in Düsseldorf the unknown remote effects of local anesthetics.

In 1929 M. Kipler described segmental therapy and emphasized the importance of skin and dermis in the segmental relationship.

In 1934 R. Leriche observed and published the resolution of postoperative intractable pain and the elimination of severe pain by injection of local anesthetics in Strasburg.

In 1940, F. and W. Huneke in Düsseldorf described the secunden phenomenon.

In 1940, K.R. Von Roquas coined and defined the word Neural Therapy for the first time in Berlin. He defined it as the relief of nerve diseases, especially pain, with local anesthetics. He coined this word and its definition independently of the Huneke brothers.

In 1944 Prof. Kalbfleich published Rickers' clinical observations of Relation pathology as a book.

In 1947 C. Lundquist synthesized lidocaine.

In 1953 J.J. Bonica introduced the peridural catheter in New York.

In 1953 Travell & Simons used the term Trigger Point Manual in New York.

In 1956, the Deutsche Arzteblatt , the organ of the German Medical Association, published a special issue for the 50th anniversary of the discovery of procaine.

In 1963 P. Dosch published the textbook Neuraltherapie in Munich.

In 1963 Herget published the observation of local anesthetics on the intestines in Giessen.

In 1965 R. Melazck & Wall described the Gate Control Theory in London

In 1970 D. Gross published his book “Therapeutic LA” in Frankfurt.

In 1970 R. Melazck described “Pain Mauna”.

In 1972 Herget was named Academic Professor for his work on the role of Procaine in chronic pain and its efficacy in phantom pain.

In 1973 Herget described the application of local anesthetics for the effective treatment of trigger points.

In 1978 Herget described the combination of sacral resting injection with Ganglion coeliacus and Ganlion impar and the regulation of symbiosis for the effective treatment of chronic intestinal dysfunctions.

In 1979 Herget & Pischinger described the importance of local anesthetics in the regulation of connective tissue.

In 1984 A. Pischinger published the book “Das System der Grundregulation (The basic system of regulation - The basic system)”.

In 1995 H. Barop and L. Fischer published their textbookNeuraltherapie.

In 1996 Heine published the most comprehensive book on Biological Medicine - The Basic System.

In 1997 Bergsmann published the first Neuraltherapie textbook for Austria.

In 1998 A. Beck published the first Neuraltherapie Textbook textbook for Switzerland.

In 2003 S. Herroeder and M.W.Hollmann proved the molecular biological mechanism of action of local anesthetics in Heidelberg.

In 2003, H. Nazlikul published the mechanism of action of Neural Therapy for the first time in Turkish within the scope of Acupuncture and Complementary Medicine Book.

In 2004 , under the chairmanship ofH. Nazlikul , BARNAT, the first Turkish journal on neural therapy and complementary medicine, was published.

In2004, the Scientific Neural Therapy and Regulation Association (BNR) was established in our country under the presidency of H. Nazlikul . This association provides trainings accepted by the International Association of Neural Therapy According to Huneke (IGNH) and trains Turkish physicians on this subject. Neural Therapy, which is an unknown treatment for those who have not been to Germany as a physician, is given to Turkish Physicians by Dr. Hüseyin Nazlikul, M.D., PhD. in accordance with the IGNH training curriculum and systematics.

In 2010, H. Nazlikul realized another first and published the first Turkish Neural Therapy Textbook.

In Germany, the IGNH Association organizes two congresses, three symposia and numerous seminars every year. It organizes trainings with similar frequency and intensity in Switzerland and Austria. In Switzerland, the Chair of Neural Therapy at the Bern Medical Faculty under the direction of Prof. Dr. Lorenz Fischer continues its scientific studies in this field. In Germany, 14 Medical Faculties have Complementary Medicine Departments and NTH has an important place in these departments, while 3 Medical Faculties have Neural Therapy Departments.
